With the new Harley-Davidson® Street Rod™ due to arrive in our showroom on 4 May for our exclusive reveal, we’ve been keeping an eye on the first ride reports from UK media to see what we can expect from the newest Street® model – does it ride as well as it looks?
It promised to raise eyebrows and reset expectations and the Street Rod certainly seems to be doing that – ticking boxes for sports bike fans, custom enthusiasts and current Harley owners.
We particularly like MCN’s first ride summary:
The new High Output Revolution engine
“The 749cc liquid-cooled V-twin at the heart of the Street Rod is a peach of an engine.”
“The Street Rod handles much more like a naked roadster. The 765mm seat height and wide bars give the rider quite a commanding position, enabling you to be quite aggressive with your inputs, but the bike works best when you settle into a smooth rhythm.”
“The new Street Rod gets two 300mm discs gripped by dual-piston calipers, and they're excellent.”
We don’t want to spoil the whole article for you, so please click below for the full report.
With 13 UK journalists having travelled to Marbella to put the new Street Rod through its paces, there are still more reports to come, but so far the verdict is good and we can’t wait to take delivery of the new bike so that we can take it for a ride ourselves.
That is, of course, if they hang around in the dealership long enough! We’re expecting high interest and demand for the Street Rod, especially with the affordability offered by its £6,745 OTR price tag.
In brief, the new Street Rod features:
• New High Output Revolution X™ 750 V-twin engine producing higher peak power and torque with an extended rev range
• New chassis geometry and 17in front and rear wheels for fast, responsive steering
• 43mm USD forks matched to remote reservoir dual rear shocks
• Dual 300mm front discs with ABS braking
• Three paint options to show off the Street Rod’s Dark Custom™ style to the maximum: Vivid Black, Charcoal Denim, Olive Gold.
Get in touch today to find out more about the exclusive event or to register early interest for the new Street Rod. We look forward to seeing you on the 4th May.
Once you have seen the stunning new Street Rod on Thursday 4th May evening, you can book in to test ride the bike over the coming weekend, 6th and 7th May.
